The Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Nonye Soludo, has urged Nigerians to celebrate Valentine’s Day by showing genuine love and extending kindness to people around them.
Soludo made the call in a statement issued on Saturday to mark this year’s Valentine’s Day celebration.
She encouraged citizens to express love not only through words but also through actions that reflect kindness and sincerity, noting that even a small act of love could have a lasting impact.
“There’s nothing more evocative than the gift of true love. To love is to carry an open and gracious heart, free from hate, unkindness, and inhumanity,” she said.
She further advised Nigerians to give and show care beyond the symbolism of the celebration.
“Give today not because it’s Valentine’s Day but because one little act of love can make a memorable impact. Let your words and actions today carry significant kindness and genuine affection,” she added.

Soludo also called on families and friends to celebrate the occasion with loved ones while remembering to reach out to others in need of compassion.
The Anambra First Lady, who is the founder of the non-governmental organisation, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, reiterated that true love remains one of the most powerful gifts anyone can share.
“Celebrate this special occasion with the people you love, and remember to extend a hand of kindness to everyone around you, too. Happy Valentine’s Day. I love you all,” she said.
