Virgil Van Dijk is set to make a comeback after being laid off for nine months due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The ace Liverpool defender has been out of action after a collusion with Everton’s goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford in the October 17th Merseyside Derby which ended in a stalemate with goals from Michael Keane, Calvert Lewin, Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane.
The injury made Netherland leave the Deutch captain out of the Euros and he has not featured in the first three training games at the club’s camp in Austria but is in contention against Hertha Berlin on Thursday.
Liverpool Manager, Jurgen Klopp disclosed to Liverpool FC.com that the 29-year-old might have few minutes on Thursday.
“I hope, Iam not sure, that there is the opportunity that Virgil could play a fewminutes. He looks really good in training and maybe we can bring[him in]. He looks ready and we will see.”
Van Dijk is also confident and he is ready to begin pre-season training with his teammates.
“I’m actually quite good; I’m feeling positive and full of energy and I’m obviously working very hard. It’s been a very, very tough journey so far, but I am in a good place right now and I’m progressing nicely,” he said.
