Social media commentator Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has issued a public apology after his confrontation with comedian Freedom Atsepoyi (Mr Jollof) caused delays on a United Nigeria Airlines flight on Monday.
In a video shared via Instagram on Tuesday, Otse accepted full responsibility for the disruption, acknowledging that his conduct was inappropriate and inconvenienced passengers who had pressing commitments.
“I would really like to apologise for what happened yesterday on the United Nigeria Airlines,” he said. “What happened was not supposed to happen, and I will take full responsibility for it.”
Otse noted that the delay may have affected passengers with urgent medical, business, or personal engagements.
“A lot of people on that flight had important things to do… I don’t know what that little delay would have cost them, and I really want to apologise,” he added.
He extended his apology to passengers of all ages, as well as the pilot and flight crew, admitting that the confrontation with Mr Jollof was unnecessary and entirely avoidable.

“Looking back at what happened, I really didn’t like that part. Even though some people saw it as a cruise on social media, I acted irresponsibly,” he said.
While Otse hesitated to promise that he would never react emotionally again, he assured Nigerians that such behaviour would not occur in public spaces where people depend on timely transportation.
“I cannot guarantee that it will not happen again,” he stated. “I can only guarantee that it will not happen on the plane, on the bus, or in a public place that will stop people from reaching their destination.”
