Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has once again lit up the headlines—this time for a jaw-dropping overhead kick that has officially been named the 2024/25 Trendyol Süper Lig Goal of the Season.
The Galatasaray frontman, who joined the Turkish giants on loan from Napoli in October 2024, clinched the honour after amassing 65.8% of the fan votes in an online poll conducted on the Süper Lig’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.
His only rival in the final round? Teammate Kaan Ayhan, whose elegantly placed free-kick drew 34.2% of votes.
The stunning goal came during Galatasaray’s 3-0 demolition of Antalyaspor on October 19, with Osimhen only on the pitch for 13 minutes.
Brought on in the 78th minute for Yunus Akgun, the Super Eagles striker acrobatically met a deflected cross to net the game’s final goal—an athletic finish that now stands as the season’s most iconic moment.
The Süper Lig made the official announcement on Tuesday:
“The most beautiful goal of the 2024 – 2025 Season in the Trendyol Super League was determined by your votes. Victor Osimhen!”
This wasn’t Osimhen’s only contribution during a transformative spell in Turkey.
The 26-year-old found the back of the net 37 times across all competitions, including 26 in the Süper Lig, making him one of the most lethal forwards in Europe this season.
Osimhen’s rise in Turkey followed a difficult spell at Napoli, where he was unexpectedly sidelined and made a late loan move to Galatasaray in search of regular football.
What followed was a redemption arc worthy of a football fairytale.
With transfer speculation swirling, Osimhen’s next move remains one of the most anticipated headlines of the summer.

He has already turned down a colossal offer from Saudi powerhouse Al Hilal—who have since returned with an even bigger bid.
However, sources suggest the Nigerian is holding out for a Premier League switch, with Manchester United reportedly at the front of the queue.
As his loan spell concludes, Napoli are expected to ramp up negotiations with potential suitors for a permanent deal.
At just 26, Osimhen is entering his prime, and his season in Turkey—punctuated by a moment of aerial brilliance—may be the turning point that launches the next chapter of his career.
As the transfer window heats up, fans around the world wait to see where one of Africa’s brightest stars will shine next.
