Women have stormed the streets of Rivers State protesting over the state of emergency declaration by President Bola Tinubu in the state.

A Nigerian actress, Ibinabo Fiberesima in a video posted by Idungofa Duke on his Facebook page on Wednesday, stated that the indigenes of Rivers finally found peace in the embattled governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

She said, “We found peace finally in Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and then today we come out and see army people driving around like there is something going on, that is wrong.”

The state of emergency declared by the president, has caused stiff security in the state and has forced many groups like the Nigerian Bar Association to condemn Tinubu’s action.

Governor Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, have been having a political face-off in Rivers State.

The political crisis escalated when the Rivers State House of Assembly, mainly aligned with Wike, took action against Fubara, advocating for his ousting.

Meanwhile, another veteran Nollywood Actress and politician, Hilda Dokubo, also condemned the declaration of a State of Emergency in Rivers State by President Tinubu, stating it is shameful.

The River State indigene took to her Instagram account late Tuesday to express her disappointment in the ongoing political crisis between the embattled Rivers State governor, Fubara, and his predecessor, Wike.

Dokubo wrote, “Now we know who the real enemy is! Now we see the hand beating the drum.

“State of emergency because for two years we have had peace! State of emergency because you want to capture the Economic soul of Rivers State.

“State of emergency because of one man? Shameless.

“Perhaps Mr President should say he wants to annex Rivers State.”
