VIDEO: Okrika Is Legal Business, Most Nigerians Use It — Actor Sylvester Madu

Nollywood actor Sylvester Madu has spoken out against the stereotypes associated with wearing second-hand clothing, commonly referred to as Okrika.

In a viral video seen by First News on his Instagram account on Monday, the actor revealed that 80% of Nigerians wear Okrika.

According to him, the business is a legal one, stating that anyone can venture into it.

He said, “They keep talking about ‘Okrika’ like saying one thing will be forgotten. 80% of Nigerians, they use Okrika. The cars that we drive now, Okrika.

“Some of you people, your TVs in your house is Okrika. Or you think it’s only clothes that is Okrika? You know eh, I honestly don’t know why people would not just let the sleeping dog lie. They just like to touch the tiger’s tail.

“And Okrika no be bad business. So don’t get me wrong, like I’m condemning it like you guys heard in the interview, like see, I did deny.”
