VP Shettima Flies to Angola to Stand in for Tinubu at AU-EU Summit

Vice-President Kashim Shettima has left Johannesburg for Luanda, Angola, to represent President Bola Tinubu at the upcoming AU-EU Summit, scheduled to hold from Monday to Wednesday, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha, announced on Sunday.

Shettima, who attended the 20th G20 Leaders Summit in Johannesburg, will join other African Union and European Union Heads of State and Government for the 7th AU-EU meeting.

Nkwocha said the summit will bring together young leaders, innovators, and civil society organisations to discuss shared challenges between the two unions. Topics expected to be addressed include climate change, inclusivity in development, infrastructure, the digital economy, the creative industry, manufacturing, and agribusiness.

The presidential aide added that Shettima will return to Nigeria at the conclusion of the summit.
