Military High Command, on Thursday, warned that security agents will not hesitate to use “strong force” against any element who plans to disrupt the presidential election scheduled for Saturday.
Acting Director, Defence Information, Brig.-Gen. Tukur Gusau, issued this warning at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja during the joint press briefing of critical security.
Those at the press conference include the spokesman of the Department of State Services, Dr Peter Afunanya; the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi; Nigeria AirForce spokesman, Air Commodore Wap Maigida, among others.
On Wednesday, during the National Security Council meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, security chiefs had assured President Muhammadu Buhari of their readiness for Saturday’s election.
The National Security Council comprising the Chief of Defence Staff, service chiefs, Inspector-General of Police, some Ministers, among others, advises the President on public security issues.
