English Premier League club, West Ham United genuine interest in Nigeria international Paul Onuachu is gathering pace, but face competition for his signature in the form of Brighton & Hove.

The Hammers’ interest in Onuachu, who fired 35 goals in just 41 matches at Racing Genk last term, is truly high, with manager David Moyes approving the signing of the prolific center forward.

The Scottish football tactician is aware that the Super Eagles star is the target of several clubs and has informed the West Ham hierarchy to table an official bid to Racing Genk.

Genk are resigned to losing Onuachu before the close of the summer transfer window but would only consider offers of around 30 million euros (approximately £26m).

West Ham owner David Sullivan also likes Onuachu but is skeptical about rubber-stamping the transfer due to one reason that is confidential.

FC Midtjylland are set to benefit from the transfer of the Nigerian having inserted a sell-on clause into the deal taking him to Racing Genk in August 2019.

Onuachu won the Ebony Shoe and also picked up the Golden Boot and Pro League Player of the Year accolades last season.
