Why EFCC is targeting internet fraudsters —Portable

Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has asserted that the lavish lifestyles of internet fraudsters are the main reason the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is targeting them.

The “Brotherhood” Artist noted that these fraudsters neglect their parents, leaving them in poverty while they live extravagantly on their ill-gotten gains, which has drawn the attention of the EFCC.

In a video message shared on his Instagram account, Portable said, “Why wouldn’t the EFCC arrest the youths when they are doing Yahoo, using iPhone 15, and staying in hotels, while their mothers are selling akara (bean cake) and their fathers are suffering?”

However, he urged the EFCC to conduct thorough investigations before making arrests, emphasizing that not everyone living a luxurious lifestyle is involved in internet fraud.
