The Kano State Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Suleiman Hashimu Dungurawa, has given reasons behind the expulsion of Abdulmumini Jibrin Kofa, the lawmaker representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency.
Dungurawa explained that Kofa’s removal followed reports that he had “traded the party for a job in the APC Presidency.”
Addressing claims that Kofa was denied the right to defend himself, Dungurawa countered: “How can you give a chance to someone who went to town attacking your party and showing his readiness to decamp?”
He added: “We took the drastic measures of sacking Abdulmumini Jibrin Kofa from our noble party, after understanding that he was clearly seeking a job in Abuja using our party. Don’t forget that Kofa had offered an interview attacking Kwankwaso our presidential candidate and also our leader and said he was ready to move out of our party, what are we waiting for.”

Dungurawa stressed that the decision was overdue, saying: “Did we need until he disgraced us before we acted on him, somebody who kicked against a leader and also called the party and it’s noble followers names, what are we waiting for, our actions was even belated.”
The chairman made these remarks during a solidarity visit where he, alongside Governor Yusuf’s Special Adviser on Political Matters, Sunusi Sirajo Madobi, welcomed hundreds of Kwankwasiyya Movement loyalists from Kiru, Kofa, and Bebeji.
