The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, has commended Nigerian civil servants for their dedication and resilience, describing them as the driving force behind effective governance and national development.
In her 2026 Workers’ Day message shared on her official Facebook page on Friday, Walson-Jack praised the commitment and professionalism of workers across the Federal Civil Service, noting that their efforts ensure the smooth running of government and the delivery of essential services to citizens.
She highlighted what she described as a growing transformation within the Service, pointing to increased innovation, digitalisation, performance management, and continuous learning as key indicators of progress.
According to her, these reforms are gradually repositioning the civil service into a more efficient, responsive, and citizen-focused institution.
The Head of Service also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritising the welfare of civil servants through various initiatives under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
She listed interventions such as the Exit Benefit Scheme, Employee Compensation Scheme, upward review of allowances, and the Housing Loan Scheme as evidence of the administration’s commitment to improving workers’ well-being.
