Wrestling Icon Hulk Hogan Dies at 71

Terry Gene Bollea, famously known as Hulk Hogan, has died at the age of 71. The wrestling legend passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at his home in Tampa, Florida. His family confirmed the cause was natural.

Hogan was more than a wrestler, he was a cultural force who helped transform professional wrestling into a global phenomenon.

With his signature red and yellow gear, booming voice, and larger-than-life charisma, Hogan became the face of WWE during the 1980s and 1990s.

He won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship six times, headlined multiple WrestleManias, and delivered unforgettable matches against names like Andre the Giant and Randy Savage.

“Train, say your prayers, and eat your vitamins, brother!”, his iconic catchphrase, rallied a generation of fans and cemented his place in pop culture.

Hogan’s influence wasn’t confined to the ring. He starred in films such as No Holds Barred and became a reality TV figure with Hogan Knows Best.

Born in Augusta, Georgia, he began wrestling in the late 1970s. But it was his run in the WWE through the ’80s that made him a global star.

One of his most famous moments came at WrestleMania III when he body-slammed the 520-pound Andre the Giant before a record crowd.

In the 1990s, Hogan reinvented himself in WCW as the villainous “Hollywood” Hogan, leading the infamous New World Order (nWo), a move that redefined his career and reshaped wrestling storytelling.

Tributes have poured in from fans and fellow wrestlers. WWE legend John Cena wrote on X, “He was the heart of wrestling.”

Though controversies later complicated his legacy, Hogan’s impact on professional wrestling remains immense.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer, and his children, Brooke and Nick. A public memorial will be held next month in Tampa.
