Yakasai Applauds Tinubu’s Policies, Says Food, Fuel Prices Reducing

Elder statesman Alhaji Tanko Yakasai has praised Nigerians for their support and prayers for President Bola Tinubu’s administration, describing its progress as proof of the trust placed in it.

Speaking to journalists in Kano on Sunday, March 16, he noted improvements in food and fuel prices.

“From some of the reports I received, the prices of basic foodstuff have been coming down. Unlike before, families can now afford to buy essentials such as rice, beans, maize, sorghum, and other food items needed to feed their homes,” he said.

He also observed that petrol prices had dropped. “In some places, I was told that petrol is now being dispensed for about ₦850 per litre instead of the earlier ₦1,150. This is good for transportation costs and will make movement easier for Nigerians.”

As a key supporter of Tinubu’s election, Yakasai urged Northerners to stand behind the administration, assuring them that the region had not been sidelined. He added that Tinubu’s best was yet to come, with more developmental policies in store.

He called on Nigerians, especially politicians, to engage in governance constructively. “Constructive criticism and informed political engagement will strengthen democracy and enrich the nation’s political landscape,” he said.

Yakasai also expressed condolences over the deaths of Chief Ayo Adebanjo and Chief Edwin Clarke. “The loss of these two great and patriotic Nigerians, who were not only my political associates but also personal friends, is a great tragedy for the nation,” he said, praying for their eternal rest.
