You’re a ‘total failure’, barred from Aso Rock, Wike blasts Amaechi

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has described his predecessor and immediate past Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, as a ‘total failure’, saying he has been prohibited from entering Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Wike spoke on Monday while commissioning a remodelled former RivBank Building in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

He was responding to a comment attributed to Amaechi at the weekend.

Amaechi, was said to have on Saturday, at the funeral of a traditional ruler, Alabo Graham-Douglas, in the Akuku Toru Local Government Area of the state, took a swipe at Wike,  who was absent at the funeral.

The former Rivers State governor, was quoted to have said he thought Wike would take responsibility for everything concerning the Kalabari chief and recognise him.

Responding on Monday, Wike warned, “This should be the last time that you (Amaechi) will talk about this state because you are a total failure as far as this state is concerned. A total failure. Even what is supposed to come to us, you blocked it but we didn’t bother.

“You think you will not finish as a minister, you have left. I hear he can’t even enter Villa now. All those periods you intimidated police people, and army people are over. You used to tell them, ‘The President is angry with you’. Now, go and tell them.”

In why he was absent at the burial, Wike said he chose to stay away from the burial because it was politicised

He said his administration constructed the roads leading to the residence and palace of the traditional ruler and also elevated his stool to the status of a first-class monarch before his passing.

“Don’t distract us again or else I will say more things,” Wike further cautioned the former transportation minister.
