The Zion Prayer Movement Outreach has dismissed as false reports circulating online that its Spiritual Director, Evangelist Ebuka Obi, was attacked by gunmen during the commissioning of a free hospital in Aguleri, Anambra State.
In a statement released in Lagos by Obi’s Media Adviser, Dan Aibangbe on Sunday, the ministry described the claims as “a wicked fabrication with wild imaginations” aimed at instilling fear among the public and discouraging attendance at its forthcoming prayer crusade.
Aibangbe noted that the video, which surfaced on YouTube, was AI-generated and bore no resemblance to the reality of the well-attended ceremony. He commended the security teams for their professionalism in ensuring a smooth and incident-free programme, which hosted several government officials, dignitaries, and supporters.
“Contrary to the fabricated claims, the commissioning ceremony in Aguleri was a resounding success, with no reported disturbances. The Evangelist and his entire entourage peacefully departed the venue around 4 p.m. and travelled safely to Owerri, Imo State, arriving without any incident. This is completely contrary to the 8 p.m. Anambra attack reported in the fake video,” Aibangbe clarified.
He alleged that the video could be an attempt to generate online traffic or deliberately instil fear among worshippers, especially those journeying from abroad for the upcoming crusade. He urged the faithful to disregard the clip, assuring them of their safety and a spiritually uplifting experience.

“The enemy traditionally adopts fear and rumours as weapons of warfare,” he said.
On preparations for the crusade, Aibangbe emphasized that security arrangements in Ngor Okpala, Imo State, the venue of the gathering, would be comprehensive, covering crowd control and personal protection. He described the area as “a safe haven for worshippers and visitors alike.”
The ministry further advised the public to rely on credible sources for information, avoid spreading unverified content, and report suspicious activities to relevant authorities. He added that the controversial video had already been flagged to YouTube for appropriate sanctions.
