𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗩𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀, 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝗼

The Kano State Police Command has recovered three stolen vehicles and arrested five suspects in connection with armed robbery and motor vehicle theft, the command has announced.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna, confirmed the development in a statement on Wednesday, describing it as a significant breakthrough in efforts to combat crime in the state.

Haruna said on January 3, 2026, the command’s Special Intervention Squad (SIS), acting on the directives of the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, intercepted a stolen Toyota Corolla along Hotoro NNPC Roundabout, Kano State, and arrested a suspect, Mohammad Ismail, 25, of Wuntin Dada Quarters, Bauchi State.

Further investigations led to the arrest of four additional suspects: Abdullahi Ishaq, 23, Abdullahi Bashir, 24, Nasir Muhammad, 23, and Nuru Muhammad, 25. The suspects allegedly confessed to stealing the Toyota Corolla from Bauchi and a Honda Pilot Jeep, property of the Bauchi State Government, which had been transported to Plateau State and subsequently recovered.

In a separate incident on January 6, 2026, police officers attached to Hotoro Division recovered a maroon Toyota Sienna with registration number RBC-801HM, suspected to have been stolen, abandoned in an isolated area in Hotoro North. The owner of the vehicle has been asked to come forward with proof of ownership at the PPRO Office, Kano State Police Command, or contact 09065885622.

The Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the officers for their dedication and thanked the people of Kano State for their continued support and cooperation. He urged residents to report any suspicious activities or information to the nearest police station or the Kano State Police Command.
