The Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, Chris Okafor, has turned himself in to the police following allegations of multiple rape and other offences capable of causing a breach of public peace, the Lagos State Police Command has said.
The command confirmed that the case has been transferred to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2, Sylvester Alabi, for further investigation.
The development followed Okafor’s failure to honour an invitation extended to him on Sunday by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti. Although he reportedly informed the police through his lawyer that he would appear on Monday, he failed to do so, prompting directives for his arrest. He later presented himself to the police on Tuesday.
Speaking in an interview with TVC on Wednesday, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, said the matter was handed over to Zone 2 after it was discovered that a similar case had already been opened and was being investigated under the authority of the AIG.
According to Jimoh, “We later learned that the same matter had been opened at the Zone 2 headquarters with the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2. Since the AIG is my immediate supervisor and the matter was already under his investigation, we handed it back to the Zone.”
The CP noted that the police now act on complaints raised on social media where such allegations are capable of causing public disorder. He said failure to address such issues promptly could lead to a breakdown of law and order.

The allegations against Okafor surfaced in mid-December 2025 after multiple claims were made online. Nollywood actress Doris Ogala accused the pastor of a long-term sexual relationship dating back to 2017, alleging broken promises of marriage, sharing of explicit content, and contributing to the collapse of her previous marriage.
Amid public outrage, Okafor reportedly addressed his congregation on December 28, 2025, apologising for past “mistakes” and kneeling at the pulpit to seek forgiveness. Reports also indicate that the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria is considering disciplinary action, while the pastor has stepped aside from his pastoral duties pending the outcome of investigations.
The Lagos State Police Command has assured that adequate security has been provided for the alleged victims, adding that investigations at SCID, Panti, and Zone 2 are ongoing.
