The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced inspection of 848 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide ahead of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The exercise began on Monday, December 15, 2025, and is aimed at ensuring all centres meet the board’s standards for security, technology, and operational readiness.
Registrar Is‑haq Oloyede directed inspection teams to be thorough and vigilant, emphasising that substandard centres must not be accredited.
He also urged inspectors to prioritise personal safety during field visits.

Only centres that have passed the mandatory system readiness test will be physically inspected.
The evaluation will cover CCTV coverage, network connections, biometric systems, laptop functionality, and other critical technical requirements.
The inspections form part of JAMB’s wider preparations to guarantee a secure, efficient, and credible UTME for candidates next year.
