Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has predicted a wider victory for the President in the 2027 presidential election.
Bwala made the projection on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, saying Tinubu’s margin over his challengers would surpass his 2023 advantage.
Tinubu won the February 25, 2023 election with 8,794,726 votes, defeating Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Atiku Abubakar, who polled 6,984,520 votes, and Labour Party’s Peter Obi, who secured 6,101,533 votes.
Tinubu’s winning margins were 1,810,206 votes over Atiku and 2,693,193 over Obi.

Bwala attributed his confidence partly to the political realignment since 2023, particularly the defection of several opposition governors to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Six PDP governors have since joined the APC: Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, Peter Mbah of Enugu, Douye Diri of Bayelsa, Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau and Agbu Kefas of Taraba. Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf also defected from the New Nigeria Peoples Party to the APC.
Bwala said the defections had strengthened Tinubu’s political structure and predicted that more governors would support his re-election in 2027 than backed him in 2023.
His projection comes as the APC consolidates its position ahead of the election, while opposition parties and political groups continue efforts to mount a stronger challenge.
Bwala’s forecast remains a political prediction, with the actual margin to be determined by the 2027 election.
