Media mogul and publisher of Ovation International, Dele Momodu, has declared his support for Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 presidential election, stating that the former vice president remains the most feared figure in Nigerian politics today.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Thursday, July 17, Momodu revealed he had left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), but would still support Atiku in the next general election.
“Everybody is afraid of Atiku, and that is exactly why I, Dele Momodu, support him,” he said.
He explained that his decision is rooted in what he called a strategic understanding of Nigeria’s political terrain.

According to him, the fear the ruling party has for Atiku proves how influential and threatening the PDP presidential candidate remains.
“The fear the ruling party has for him shows he remains the most formidable opposition figure today,” he said. “When everyone is trying to discredit or silence a man, it means he’s the one they truly fear.”
Momodu, who once contested for president in 2011 and ran in the PDP primaries in 2022, did not specify whether he would seek office again under the ADC platform.
His endorsement of Atiku comes amid early political realignments as parties and key figures position themselves for the 2027 elections.
