2027: Makinde Picks Adeniran To Lead APM Campaign In Oyo

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appointed the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr Nureni Adeniran, as coordinator of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) presidential campaign in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.

A statement issued in Ibadan on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dr Suleimon Olanrewaju, said Adeniran will also serve as Director-General of the APM Governorship Campaign Council in Oyo State.

The statement said former Oyo State Commissioner for Finance, Bimbo Adekanmbi, who served under the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, is the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 poll.

Also appointed were former Oyo East Local Government Chairman, Saheed Arowosaye, as Deputy Coordinator, and the state’s Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Demola Ojo, as Deputy Director-General for Oyo South Senatorial District.

According to Olanrewaju, Makinde, the APM’s presidential candidate, will inaugurate the campaign council on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the Conference Room of the Governor’s Office in Ibadan.

The inauguration is expected to formally launch the party’s campaign machinery in Oyo State as preparations gather momentum for the 2027 general elections.

The appointments come weeks after the APM unveiled Adekanmbi as its governorship flag bearer, marking the party’s formal entry into the race for Agodi Government House.

With political activities gathering pace nationwide, parties have begun constituting campaign structures and mobilizing supporters ahead of the 2027 polls.
