2027: Oyebanji, Tompolo Rally Ekiti Voters Behind Tinubu’s Re-Election Campaign

High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has donated 25 vehicles to the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement to strengthen grassroots campaigns for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Tompolo, the Grand Patron of the movement, announced the donation through Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, during the inauguration of the movement’s Ekiti State chapter in Ado Ekiti on Thursday.

He called on residents of Ekiti State to support Tinubu for a second term, describing him as a respected Yoruba son whose economic policies, in his view, had helped stabilise the economy and increased the funds available to state governments.

Represented by Pondi, Tompolo attributed the improved financial capacity of state governments to the removal of petrol subsidy and the implementation of economic reforms by the Tinubu administration.

“Today, we have an economy that is stable because of President Tinubu. Today, governors have money to pay salaries and pensions, and they have money to execute projects because President Bola Ahmed Tinubu chose to be bold enough to remove petrol subsidy and to implement the reformative policies he put forward,” he said.

He explained that the 25 vehicles would support door-to-door outreach and voter mobilisation across polling units, wards, local government areas, constituencies and religious centres.

Tompolo said the movement was established to rally support for Tinubu nationwide and promote the continuation of the President’s reform agenda. He urged its members and leaders to make effective use of the vehicles and other campaign materials to reach communities across Ekiti State.

Speaking at the inauguration, Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji expressed optimism about Tinubu’s electoral prospects in the state, urging residents to help the President secure at least 80 per cent of the votes in the 2027 election.

Oyebanji credited the Tinubu administration with contributing significantly to his government’s achievements, noting that federal support had helped facilitate the delivery of projects and programmes in the state.

He recalled that the All Progressives Congress secured 85.7 per cent of the votes in Ekiti during the previous election, expressing hope that the party would enjoy considerable backing in 2027.

“My plea to Ekiti people is this, that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win in Ekiti is not in contention, but by how much?” the governor said.

He maintained that Tinubu had been favourable to Ekiti State and urged residents to vote for the President’s re-election to sustain ongoing development initiatives.

The governor also warned against voter apathy, calling on campaign organisers to engage eligible voters who possess Permanent Voter Cards but failed to participate in previous elections.

He stressed that the mobilisation drive should prioritise increasing voter turnout rather than relying on assumptions that Tinubu would win without a strong electoral participation.

Oyebanji praised Tompolo for providing the vehicles, describing the donation as a challenge to political stakeholders in Ekiti to contribute to the movement’s mobilisation efforts.

The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adeoye Stephen Aribasoye, also commended Tompolo for extending the campaign initiative to different parts of the country.

Aribasoye said the state government’s accomplishments had been supported by the Tinubu administration, adding that the President’s re-election would allow Oyebanji to sustain the implementation of his programmes.

He expressed confidence that voters in Ekiti would give Tinubu substantial support in the 2027 presidential election.

Earlier, the National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Sunday Asuku, urged residents to come out in large numbers to vote for Tinubu.
