…Commends Gov Diri’s Defection to APC as Bold, Patriotic Move
A political mobilization group, PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, has pledged to deliver no fewer than 15 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, vowing to secure his re-election through massive grassroots engagement nationwide.
The group’s National Coordinator, Sunday Asuku, made the declaration in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, during a solidarity rally organized to welcome Governor Douye Diri into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Diri’s defection to the APC on Monday was formally sealed at a colourful ceremony in the state capital, described by political observers as a historic realignment that could reshape Bayelsa’s political landscape ahead of 2027.
Over 5,000 members of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement from across the state’s eight local government areas thronged the venue in a show of solidarity.
Speaking with journalists, Asuku lauded President Tinubu for “his unwavering belief in Nigeria’s unity and inclusive governance,” describing him as a leader whose policies are “building confidence among political actors across party lines.”
He noted that Tinubu’s reform-driven leadership has strengthened democratic institutions, fostered unity, and restored Nigerians’ faith in government.
“President Tinubu’s bold economic reforms, improved sectoral performance, and renewed focus on good governance clearly show his commitment to improving the lives and livelihoods of Nigerians,” Asuku said.
Also speaking, a leader of the movement, Francis Kolokolo, hailed Governor Diri’s defection as a “bold, courageous, and patriotic decision” that reflects Bayelsans’ growing desire for full integration into the national political mainstream.

Kolokolo emphasized that aligning Bayelsa with the federal centre would enhance development cooperation and attract greater federal presence.
“This political alignment positions Bayelsa strategically on the table of equal rights and opens doors for socio-economic growth,” he said. “Many will soon appreciate the wisdom behind this move.”
He further praised Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), the visionary behind the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, for his consistent efforts in promoting unity and development across the Niger Delta.
The group reaffirmed its commitment to deepening grassroots mobilization and consolidating support for the APC nationwide, stating that the party remains “the only vehicle capable of delivering progress, unity, and prosperity to Nigerians.”
