Abia State Governor Alex Otti has cautioned political opponents against pushing early permutations ahead of the 2027 elections, saying his administration will not allow “noise” to derail its development agenda.
The governor’s position was contained in a statement released on Sunday, January 18, by his Chief Press Secretary, Ukoha Njoku.
According to the statement, Otti spoke on Saturday during a church service at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Umuikaa District Headquarters, Isialangwa South Local Government Area.
He told worshippers that his government remains focused on delivering for Abia State and will not be drawn into premature political battles.
“No one, or group of people, whoever they are, none of them is entitled to distract us,” the governor said.

Otti said his priority is governance, not election calculations.
“I assure you that this government will continue to do the right thing. When they make noise, we should not be bothered about noise. We should just remain focused and do what we have to do,” Otti declared.
He also dismissed speculation about his political future, saying his emergence in 2023 was not by human arrangement.
“Sometimes, I worry if it is the 2027 election they are talking about, or maybe there’s another election coming up.
“But the same way God delivered 2023, that is the way He will deliver 2027,” the governor said.
