2Baba, Natasha Osawaru Make Bold Appearance at Edo Tribunal

Gladness Gideon

Renowned Nigerian musician, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face or 2Baba, made a high-profile entrance at the Edo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja on Wednesday. However, what turned heads was not just his presence at the court but his company—his new lover, Natasha Osawaru, the lawmaker representing Egor Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly.

The tribunal is set to rule on a petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Asuerinme Ighodalo, challenging the election victory of Governor Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Osawaru, who serves as the Deputy Majority Leader of the Edo Assembly, was elected under the PDP but has been making headlines recently for reasons beyond politics. Her relationship with 2Baba, one of Nigeria’s most celebrated musicians, has been the subject of widespread public attention.

In January, 2Baba announced his separation from his wife, Annie Idibia. Just a month later, he proposed to Osawaru—a move that quickly became a trending topic across social media.

Since then, the couple has been seen together on multiple occasions, including shopping outings and high-profile social events. In a further public declaration of their bond, Osawaru recently updated her Instagram bio to reflect the singer’s surname, “Idibia,” solidifying speculation about the seriousness of their relationship.

While 2Baba’s appearance at the tribunal could be seen as a show of support for Osawaru, given her political affiliations, it also adds a layer of intrigue to the already heated legal battle over the Edo governorship seat.

With the tribunal set to deliver a crucial ruling, the presence of a major celebrity and his politically connected partner has further fueled public curiosity about both the court proceedings and their blossoming relationship.

As the tribunal prepares to decide the fate of Edo’s governorship dispute, one thing remains certain—2Baba and Natasha Osawaru are not just making headlines in entertainment and politics, but also reshaping the intersection of both worlds.
