Former U.S. President Joe Biden has undergone another medical procedure to treat skin cancer, reigniting public attention on his health.
The 82-year-old was recently spotted leaving a Delaware church service over the Labour Day weekend with a bandage and scar on his forehead, fueling speculation until his spokesperson confirmed he had Mohs surgery—a specialised treatment designed to remove skin cancer with minimal damage to surrounding tissue.
According to Fox News, the procedure involves removing skin layer by layer under close examination until no cancer cells remain.
While officials did not disclose the exact type of cancer treated this time, the surgery is commonly recommended for early detection and prevention of further spread.
This is not Biden’s first brush with the disease. In March 2023, while still in office, he had a basal cell carcinoma successfully removed from his chest.

More recently, in May 2025, he revealed a diagnosis of aggressive prostate cancer that had spread to his bones—a condition that poses a far greater challenge to his health.
Despite these setbacks, Biden has remained publicly optimistic. In a social media post, he wrote: “Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places.”
His resilience continues to be a recurring theme in his personal journey, even as concerns linger about his long-term health.
