In a brazen overnight attack, suspected bandits have kidnapped the Secretary of Munya Local Government Area, Hon. Usman Daina, along with his wife and a relative.
The incident occurred late Thursday night at his residence in Sarkin Pawa, the administrative headquarters of Munya LGA in Niger State.
The abduction was confirmed in a social media post by security analyst Bakatsine on platform X (formerly Twitter) early Friday morning. “Yesterday night, bandits stormed a residence and abducted Munya LGA Secretary, Hon. Usman Daina along with his wife and a relative,” the post read.

The attack has raised renewed concerns about the security situation in Niger State, which has witnessed repeated incursions by armed groups targeting communities and government officials.
Local authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the matter, but security operatives are reportedly investigating the incident.
Residents of Munya LGA have expressed fears over the growing insecurity in the region, calling for urgent intervention by the government to curb the activities of criminal elements.
