Lagos Building Collapse Claims Four Lives, 15 Rescued

Emergency officials confirmed that the death toll from a three-storey building collapse in Oriwu Estate, along the Lekki/Epe Expressway, has reached four.

Rescue operations are ongoing, with at least 15 people having been rescued from the rubble.

The building, which was still under construction at the time of the collapse, has raised immediate concerns about construction safety standards.

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the collapse, and an investigation is underway.

This incident is one of several building collapses in Lagos in recent months. In January, a two-storey building on Chevron Drive collapsed, resulting in one fatality and four rescues.

Officials have stressed the need for a thorough review of construction practices to prevent further tragedies as rescue efforts continue at the scene.
