Armed bandits launched a deadly attack on travelers along the Lambar Rabah to Mai-Kujera road in Sokoto State on Wednesday night, leaving one person dead and several others abducted.
The assailants barricaded the highway, forcing vehicles to stop before unleashing violence on commuters.
The incident was made public by security analyst Bakatsine via his official X handle on Thursday.
He said multiple vehicles were also set ablaze during the attack.

“The bandits blocked the highway, forced vehicles to stop, and launched their attack, killing one person, abducting several others, and burning multiple vehicles,” Bakatsine wrote.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities are yet to release an official statement on the incident.
The attack adds to the rising wave of insecurity across the country, leaving travelers on highways vulnerable to violence.
