Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has announced that former President Muhammadu Buhari will be laid to rest in his hometown of Daura on Tuesday.
Speaking at a press briefing on Monday, July 14, at the Katsina Government House, Governor Radda confirmed that preparations had been finalised with the late president’s family and associates in London, where he passed away on Sunday at the age of 82.
“The burial arrangement for our father, the late president, who passed on yesterday in a hospital in London.
“We have made consultations with the family and people around in London, and we concluded that the body will arrive in Katsina tomorrow by 12 noon, and the burial is going to take place in Daura at about 2 pm. These are the arrangements in place,” Radda stated.

The governor expressed condolences on behalf of the government and people of Katsina State, extending sympathies to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the entire nation.
“On behalf of myself, the people and government of Katsina state will condole the family, and the people of Nigeria, especially His Excellency, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over the demise of his predecessor,” he said.
“May Almighty Allah give us the fortitude to bear the loss,” Radda added.
In the wake of Buhari’s death, President Tinubu directed Vice President Kashim Shettima and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila to accompany the former president’s remains back to Nigeria for the final rites.
