The newly selected National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has pledged to unite, build, and expand the ruling party to ensure it remains a pillar for the realization of the dreams and hopes of Nigerians.
He stated this in a heartfelt acceptance speech after he was officially announced on Thursday as the new chairman of the party during the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the APC in Abuja
He expressed his deep gratitude to the leadership of the party and the Nigerian people for entrusting him with the significant responsibility.
He began by offering his sincere thanks to God and the party’s leadership—from the President to the Governors and National Assembly members, as well as members of the National Executive Committee (NEC)—for the trust placed in him.
“I want to express my profound gratitude for entrusting me with this big responsibility, and I promise not to take this mandate for granted,” Yilwatda stated, underscoring his commitment to lead the party with dedication and focus.

The new APC Chairman went on to highlight the importance of unity and collaboration within the party. “We are the mechanics of the party, and the party is our vehicle. We will fix it and drive it to our desired destination,” he remarked. He expressed his intention to work together with all party members, aiming to unite, build, and expand the APC, ensuring it remains a pillar for the realization of the dreams and hopes of Nigerians.
In his concluding remarks, Yilwatda emphasized his determination to uphold the vision of the party, promising to rely on the collective support of the leadership and membership to fulfill the aspirations of the Nigerian people.
“We will fulfill the dream of Nigerians who have placed their hope in the Renew Hope Agenda. I will trust and look up to the leadership and all of you to ensure that we achieve the great dreams Nigerians have for the APC,” he concluded.
The speech was met with applause and reaffirmed Yilwatda’s resolve to steer the APC towards greater unity and progress in the coming years.
