Security operatives have arrested a yet-to-be-identified Village Head of Sukutum in Kankiya Local Government Area of Katsina State for allegedly serving as an informant to armed bandits.
The traditional ruler was arrested after intelligence reports allegedly linked him to criminal networks in the region.
According to intelligence sources quoted by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, on Wednesday, the village head was accused of providing information to the bandits about the movement of security personnel and vulnerable communities, enabling them to launch attacks.

The suspect is also suspected of making regular visits to the bandits’ hideouts to sustain contact and coordinate operations.
Authorities have confirmed the suspect is in custody and undergoing further investigation to determine the extent of his involvement and to identify other possible collaborators.
