Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has announced the approval of 17 new appointments into strategic offices and institutions, a move seen as part of his administration’s drive to strengthen governance and service delivery.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, who confirmed that the appointments take immediate effect.
In the Protocol Department, Uche Mark Nwosu has been named Chief Protocol Officer, with Ikechukwu Nwankwo as Deputy Chief Protocol Officer.
Others appointed include Adaeze Ivy Iroegbu (Chief Moderator), Emmanuel Paul Irechi, Amarachi Inyama, and Augustine Chukwuebuka as Protocol Officers.
At the Abia State College of Education (Technical), Arochukwu, Dr. Joe Emeson has been appointed Chairman of the Governing Council, while Dr. Mrs. Idowu O. Eluwa assumes the role of Provost.
In the Abia State Liaison Office, Abuja, Iheanyi Frank Chinasa has been assigned as Chief Liaison Officer and National Assembly Liaison Officer.
For the Abia State Transport Corporation, Emmanuel M. Ufomba takes over as Chairman.

He will be supported by members Godanswer P. Kalu, Mrs. Salomey Onwu, Kingsley Oriaku, and Onyebuchi Nna.
Other key appointments include:
Chima Raymond Ukwa – Special Assistant on Sports
Prince Christian Enwerenmadu – Special Adviser on Agriculture
Mrs. Chinenye Nwaka – Senior Special Assistant on Women Affairs
Governor Otti, since assuming office, has made a series of administrative reforms, with these latest appointments widely viewed as a step toward ensuring efficiency, accountability, and inclusiveness in governance.
