At least 10 people have now been confirmed dead following the fire outbreak at Afriland Towers, a six-storey commercial building on Broad Street, Lagos Island.
United Capital Plc, an investment and financial services company occupying the third and fourth floors of the building, on Thursday confirmed the loss of six of its staff members.
This comes after the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) announced on Wednesday evening that four of its personnel also died in the incident.
The fire, which reportedly started in the inverter room in the basement of the tower around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, spread thick smoke through the building, forcing occupants to scamper for safety.
Some were seen attempting to jump through windows before emergency responders arrived.

Officials of the Federal Fire Service, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, and other first responders rescued nine people from the building.
Five were resuscitated, while four remained unconscious.
Although emergency authorities have yet to release an official casualty figure, the confirmation from United Capital brings the death toll to at least 10.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
