Former National Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sunday Udeh-Okoye, has said another South-East state will soon join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He made the revelation on Tuesday, October 14, during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, shortly after he and other Enugu PDP leaders defected alongside Governor Peter Mbah to the ruling party.
“Just wait and see; very soon, another state will fall in the South-East to the APC,” Okoye declared, describing the party’s rise in the region as unstoppable.

When asked to name the state, he declined, saying the information was classified. He stressed that the wave of defections was not about crushing opposition but about the PDP’s failure in leadership and internal management.
Governor Mbah’s defection had earlier been formalised in Abuja, where he was received by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, and other senior party figures.
Currently, the APC controls Imo, Ebonyi, and Enugu States in the South-East, while Anambra is governed by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Abia by the Labour Party.
