The Lagos State Government has announced plans to collaborate with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to curb the sale and consumption of hard drugs in government-owned housing estates across the state.
This was disclosed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Housing, Mr. Abdulhafis Toriola, in a statement signed by the Deputy Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Ganiu Lawal, on Thursday in Lagos.
Toriola made the commitment while receiving the Lagos State Commander of the NDLEA, Mr. Abubakar Liman Wali, and his team on a courtesy visit to his office in Ikeja.
Commending the NDLEA for its relentless efforts in combating drug abuse and related crimes nationwide, Toriola lauded the agency’s initiatives in public sensitisation and rehabilitation of drug users.
He assured that the state government, under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is determined to rid its communities of illicit drug activities, especially among youths, in pursuit of safer and healthier living environments.

In response, Wali appreciated the ministry’s willingness to collaborate, describing it as a welcome step in strengthening the state’s anti-drug campaign.
He reaffirmed the NDLEA’s commitment to promoting discipline, patriotism, and service to humanity in its ongoing fight against drug abuse.
