The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested 21 suspects for alleged involvement in cattle rustling, housebreaking, theft, and drug peddling across different parts of the state.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on in Dutse by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam.
According to him, the arrests followed a series of coordinated operations in Dutse, Ringim, Gwiwa, Takur, Sara, and Basirka, which also led to the recovery of several stolen items, weapons, and illicit drugs.
“The police seized large quantities of drugs, including 420 pieces of Tramadol, 330 pieces of Exol, 240 wraps of suspected cannabis leaves, 231 pieces of D5, and 41 pieces of Diazepam, among others,” Adam stated.
He added that one suspect, identified as Gaddafi Ya’u, 25, was arrested on September 27 by operatives from the Dutse Division for alleged housebreaking and theft at Zai Hill. Recovered items included a stabilizer, nine traditional caps, a knife, and nine tablets of suspected Diazepam.
In a separate operation involving Jahun, Birniwa, Garki, and Aujara Divisions, police recovered two cows and twelve sheep suspected to have been stolen, with two suspects arrested in Aujara.

SP Adam also confirmed the arrest of four suspects for theft in Jahun, Yalwawa, and Kachi towns, where two Android phones, a generator, and two air-conditioning compressors were recovered.
He said all suspects have been charged in court.
The Commissioner of Police, Dahiru Muhammad, commended the operatives for their professionalism and reiterated the command’s commitment to maintaining peace and security in the state.
He urged residents, parents, and community leaders to remain vigilant and provide useful information to assist ongoing security operations.
