President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of five new Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership and enhance administrative efficiency across ministries, departments, and agencies.
The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are:
Ibrahim Abdulkarim Ozi (Federal Capital Territory)
Ezemama John Chidiebere (Imo State)
Garba Abdul Sule Usman (North Central)
Mohammed Musa Ishiyaku (North East)
Ukaire Binyerem Chigbowu (South East)
According to a statement issued by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), the appointments followed a rigorous and transparent selection process designed to uphold meritocracy, professionalism, and integrity in the Federal Civil Service.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, congratulated the appointees and commended President Tinubu for his consistent commitment to reforming the public service and promoting excellence in governance.
She emphasized that the new Permanent Secretaries bring extensive experience and specialized expertise to their roles, qualities that will help to enhance policy execution and service delivery across the nation’s administrative framework.

“These appointments reflect the President’s dedication to merit, transparency, and competence in the selection of leadership within the civil service,” Walson-Jack stated.
She expressed optimism that the newly appointed officials would contribute meaningfully to the government’s reform agenda, drive institutional performance, and strengthen coordination between ministries in pursuit of national development goals.
The appointments come as part of the administration’s broader strategy to reposition the Federal Civil Service as a center of excellence, ensuring that it remains efficient, accountable, and responsive to the needs of Nigerians.
