Public commentator and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Joe Igbokwe, has urged the Federal Government to protect the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, from what he described as a dangerous network of land grabbers operating in Abuja.
Igbokwe made the call in a Facebook post on Friday, November 14, alleging that the syndicate had entrenched itself deeply in the territory.
He warned that the issue had persisted for years without decisive action.
He wrote, “Abuja land grabbers are professional thieves. They are vicious, potentially dangerous, a formidable cartel. It has been going on for years.

“The business is big and the professional land grabbers are big also. FCT lands are their own. FG protect Wike!”
His comments follow the recent confrontation between Wike and a naval officer who reportedly blocked the minister from accessing a disputed plot of land in Abuja.
A video of the incident, which circulated widely online, showed the minister and the officer exchanging words after soldiers were said to have prevented FCT officials from halting an unauthorised construction on the site.
The clash drew nationwide attention, prompting debates over land administration in the capital and the alleged influence of powerful interests behind the scenes.
