Cross River APC Names Ojogu Acting Chairman After Eba’s Impeachment  

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State has appointed Ntufam Ekum Ojogu as its new acting chairman, following the impeachment of former chairman Alphonsus Eba. .

Eba’s removal was confirmed after a vote of no confidence passed by party executives, who accused him of mismanaging party funds, exhibiting high‑handedness, and failing to pay stipends to officials across wards and local government chapters.

Ojogu was unveiled on Thursday, December 4, at the APC state secretariat in Calabar.

Addressing party members, he pledged to stabilise the party, promote unity, and rebuild its grassroots structure.

“I give profound thanks to Almighty God for His grace that has brought us to this moment. I am deeply humbled and honoured to stand before you today as the Acting Chairman of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Cross River State,” Ojogu said.

“Your solidarity, loyalty, and unflinching support during this transition have not gone unnoticed.

“The unity we display today is a testament to the resilience and love we share for our party and for Cross River State. We will work day and night to deliver dividends of democracy to our people.”

He commended local government chapter chairmen, ward leaders, polling unit coordinators, and volunteers for keeping the party structure active at the grassroots.

“I thank every member who stood firm for due process and party stability. I extend my sincere appreciation to the Chapter Chairmen of the 18 Local Government Areas. Your dedication at the grassroots has kept the party’s flame alive,” he stated.

Ojogu promised an open-door administration that would welcome suggestions from members and promote collective decision‑making.

Reaffirming his loyalty to Governor Bassey Otu, he called on members to put personal and political differences aside, saying unity was crucial for the party’s success and the implementation of the governor’s development agenda.

He assured that his leadership would focus on accountability, teamwork, and restoring confidence within the party after months of internal tension.
