Hollywood Shock: Filmmaker’s Son Faces Charges Over Parents’ Murder

Nick Reiner, 32, the son of acclaimed Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner, has been charged with the murder of his parents following their deaths at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home.

Authorities said the couple, aged 78 and 70 respectively, were found stabbed to death on Sunday. Nick Reiner was arrested after the discovery and is expected to appear in court for arraignment on Tuesday.

According to US media reports, the incident followed an argument between Nick Reiner and his parents at a social gathering the previous evening. Their daughter reportedly discovered the bodies and alerted law enforcement.

Rob Reiner was a celebrated filmmaker, known for classics such as This Is Spinal Tap, The Princess Bride, A Few Good Men, and When Harry Met Sally. His career spanned acting, directing, and producing, earning him international acclaim.

Tributes have poured in for the late filmmaker. Actor Ben Stiller described him as “kind, caring, and really funny,” while former President Barack Obama said he and his wife were “heartbroken” over the loss. California Governor Gavin Newsom also expressed condolences, praising Reiner’s contributions to the state.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities continue to gather evidence surrounding the circumstances of the murders.
