Fubara Swears In Five Special Advisers, Vows to Regain Lost Momentum in Rivers

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has administered the oath of office to five newly appointed Special Advisers, restating his administration’s determination to press ahead and regain lost momentum.

The swearing-in ceremony took place on Friday, the 2nd of January, 2026, at the Government House, where the governor said his administration possesses the strength and resilience needed to fulfil its responsibilities to the people.

Governor Fubara explained that the appointments were strategic, aimed at reinforcing governance structures and ensuring the effective and seamless operation of his government.

He noted that the appointees are not newcomers to public service, emphasizing that their previous exposure to government processes has given them a clear understanding of the vision, philosophy, and objectives of his administration.

According to the governor, their familiarity with the system would help avoid unnecessary delays in performance assessment and guarantee the timely achievement of set targets.

He further charged the newly sworn-in advisers to discharge their duties with a deep sense of responsibility, cautioning that their appointments should be regarded not as privileges but as calls to committed service.

“You have previously distinguished themselves in public office and expressed confidence that they would replicate such performance in their new roles.
“Do not disappoint the government and the people of Rivers State as they begin work to fulfill the administration’s social contract with the citizens,” he said.

Those inaugurated as Special Advisers are Eloka Tasie-Amadi, Peter Medee, Emmanuel Fubara, Victor Ekaro, and Darlington Oji.
