Wike Elevates 2,000 FCTA, FCDA Workers In Major Promotion Drive

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the promotion of more than 2,000 workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).

The announcement was made on Tuesday, January 14, 2026, following the completion of the civil service promotion exercise.

Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Ezeh, said the promotions cut across 165 cadres and were based on the results of computer-based promotion examinations conducted from November 25 to November 29, 2025.

Ezeh described the approval as a demonstration of Wike’s commitment to staff welfare and career development, noting that the exercise reflects the administration’s efforts to motivate and retain diligent workers in the FCT civil service.

He urged civil servants to continue working hard and prepare early for future promotion exercises, stressing that only disciplined and hardworking staff would be elevated in subsequent assessments.

The commission reaffirmed its commitment to the use of digital testing platforms to enhance transparency and credibility in promotions across the FCTA and FCDA.
