Davido Paternity Dispute Deepens as Alleged Daughter, Mother Reject DNA Claims

The long-running paternity dispute involving Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has intensified following fresh public responses from a 12-year-old girl, Anuoluwapo Mitchelle, and her mother, Ayo Labinjoh, who accuse the singer of intimidation, bullying and misinformation.

In separate posts shared on Instagram late Thursday, the mother and daughter rejected Davido’s recent claim that he conducted five DNA tests proving he is not the child’s father. They insisted that only one DNA test was ever carried out and alleged that the process was compromised.

Reacting on her Instagram page, Anuoluwapo expressed distress over Davido’s response to her earlier appeal for a DNA test, describing his alleged conduct as hurtful and threatening.

“My dad Mr David Adeleke replied me earlier this evening. I was devastated on the way he cursed me out, bullied me and threatened to lock my mother up simply because I want to establish my identity,” she wrote.

The teenager also accused the singer of repeatedly changing his narrative regarding DNA testing, noting that earlier claims of two tests had now risen to five.

“First it was two, now it’s five. He even said the last one was on my 10th birthday. According to my mom, we only went for one test, which was fake,” she said, urging the public to read her mother’s detailed statement.

In her own post, Ayo Labinjoh strongly rejected Davido’s description of her as his “baby mama” and condemned the language used against her and her daughter.

“My name is Ayo Labinjoh. I’m not Davido’s baby mama or a bitch,” she wrote, adding that she had prioritised her daughter’s mental health after years of public scrutiny.

Labinjoh alleged that the controversy had taken a severe emotional toll on the child, claiming she had “cried for days, fainted in school and undergone psychotherapy” due to prolonged bullying.

She further disputed the singer’s DNA claims, stating that the only test conducted was flawed and that the blood sample drawn was allegedly never analysed.

“We wasted our time, disrupted Anu’s mental health, then they lied that we did two tests, now five,” she wrote.

Labinjoh also accused Davido of directly contacting the child with threats, alleging that he warned of having her arrested. She said any future DNA test would require international oversight to ensure transparency.

“David is a US citizen. I will request the US State Department to contact the embassy in Lagos or Abuja to help supervise and witness a clean, independent DNA test,” she added.

Davido had earlier denied paternity in posts on Instagram and X, insisting that five DNA tests had returned negative results and stating unequivocally, “I am not your father.” He also denied having any relationship with Labinjoh beyond the DNA process, dismissing the allegations as false.

The dispute, which dates back to 2017, has once again sparked widespread public debate, with both parties maintaining sharply conflicting accounts of events. As the controversy unfolds, the case continues to draw attention to the emotional and ethical complexities surrounding public paternity disputes involving high-profile figures.
