The Obidient Movement has taken another decisive step in its evolving political journey with the successful harmonisation of its structures with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) leadership in Yobe and Borno states.
Announcing the development on Saturday, Dr Yunusa Tanko, Interim National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, said the engagements held in Damaturu, Yobe State, and Maiduguri, Borno State, marked a significant milestone in strengthening political collaboration at the grassroots.
In Maiduguri, Tanko met with the Obidient Movement Collegiate Team led by Mr Ayuba Wakawa, alongside the Borno State Interim Leadership of the ADC, headed by Alhaji Ali Bukar Wurge. The ADC leadership formally welcomed members of the Obidient Movement into the party, describing the harmonisation as timely, strategic, and essential for expanding the party’s grassroots reach across the state.
According to Tanko, ADC leaders reaffirmed their commitment to internal democracy, inclusiveness, and the empowerment of youths, women, and community leaders as critical pillars for sustainable political development.

A similar engagement took place in Yobe State, where Tanko met with Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim Jawa and the Obidient Movement Collegiate Team led by Mallam Haruna Zaana. He said both sides reaffirmed shared values and a collective resolve to work together in rebuilding political confidence and participation at the state level.
Describing the moment as “action time,” Tanko called on supporters to embrace unity, purpose, and determination in pursuing national renewal.
“This is about reclaiming our country and rebuilding its future together,” he said, reiterating the movement’s long-held message that “a New Nigeria is possible.”
