Uba Sani Pledges Kaduna Support For Tinubu’s Re-election

Governor Uba Sani has reaffirmed Kaduna State’s commitment to backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term, citing what he described as tangible democratic gains delivered to the state and the nation under the President’s leadership.

The governor made this known on Sunday, the 18th of January, 2026, while addressing party stakeholders during an engagement on the ongoing nationwide electronic registration of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

While highlighting several federal projects executed and facilitated in Kaduna State, Governor Uba Sani told stakeholders in Zone 2 that the state is aiming to register 2.5 million members in the current exercise, noting that the APC has firmly established itself as the leading political party in the state.

He attributed the growing strength of the party to his administration’s inclusive governance approach, which ensures equitable distribution of projects across the state, alongside interventions initiated by President Tinubu. According to him, these efforts have triggered a wave of defections from opposition parties into the APC.

Governor Uba Sani disclosed that President Tinubu approved N1 billion in support of the Kaduna State Light Rail project, describing the intervention as unprecedented in northern Nigeria.

He stressed that aside from Lagos State, no other subnational government has received such significant federal backing for a light rail initiative anywhere in the country.

Providing further insight into recent developments, the governor said: ‘’Only three weeks ago, I was in China, in the company of the Director General of Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership, at the instance of President Bola Tinubu, who has also decided that Kaduna State would be the pilot state to embark on a major poultry project.

‘’The project will generate at least 350,000 jobs. Already, the federal government has approved $200 million for it and Kaduna State will have the biggest poultry project in South-Saharan Africa and the ground breaking will be done in the next three weeks,’’ he added.

He explained that the poultry initiative would also stimulate economic activity by supporting about 10,000 small and medium-scale enterprises, including businesses directly and indirectly linked to poultry farming.

Governor Uba Sani further expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for approving the construction of the Mando Birnin Gwari road and the rehabilitation of the Kwoi Jama’a road, describing both projects as critical to the state’s development.

‘’Again, we must thank our leader, President Bola Tinubu, for approving the construction of Mando to Birnin Gwari road, which is very critical, as well as re-construction of Kwoi to Jama’a road,’’ he said.

The governor also revealed that several projects have been approved in the current budget through collaboration between the Kaduna State Government and the Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajuddeen Abbas, particularly for Zone 1.

He noted that the northern senatorial district has benefited significantly, adding that having Speaker Abbas in office has been a major advantage for the zone.
Governor Uba Sani also praised the Minister of Environment, Malam Balarabe Abbas Lawal, describing him as instrumental to Kaduna State’s development efforts.

According to the governor, the minister has played a key role in projects under the ACRESAL programme, which focus on erosion control and climate-related challenges.

He added: ‘’In the next one or two months, we will be doing ground breaking for one of the major projects in Zaria and Rigasa, totaling about N53 billion, courtesy of the support and effort of the Minister of Environment, Mallam Balarabe Abbas.

‘’So I can say that we are very lucky, we have people that are working for the Federal Government from our State that have been able to attract very important projects to our state,’’ he added.

Governor Uba Sani expressed confidence that Kaduna State would emerge as one of the top-performing states in the APC e-registration exercise, given the level of development recorded and the support received from the federal government.

He had earlier held similar stakeholder meetings on Saturday with APC members from Zone 2, covering Kaduna North and Kaduna South, as well as Chikun, Kajuru, Igabi, Birnin Gwari and Giwa local government areas.

On Sunday, the governor and other senior officials also met stakeholders from Zone 1, comprising Zaria, Sabon Gari, Soba, Makarfi, Kubau, Kudan, Ikara and Lere local governments.

He also engaged stakeholders from Zone 3, the Southern Kaduna senatorial district, including Zangon Kataf, Kachia, Jaba, Jema’a, Kaura, Kagarko and Sanga local government areas.
