Wike Retains Veteran Protocol Chief, Names Sani Daura Senior Special Assistant

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has approved the appointment of Mr Sani Musa Daura as Senior Special Assistant on Protocol Matters.

The appointment was announced on Wednesday in a statement issued by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, who described Daura as a highly experienced public officer with more than three decades of service in the FCT Administration’s Protocol Department.

Daura, who rose to the position of Director of FCT Protocol in 2019, is expected to formally assume the new advisory role after his retirement from the civil service, scheduled for January 24, 2026.

According to the statement, his appointment as Senior Special Assistant will take effect immediately upon his exit from active civil service, allowing the minister to retain his expertise in managing protocol and official engagements within the FCT.
