Kogi Gov Names Prof. Ogbo VC, Avidime Poly Rector

Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on Monday, February 2, 2026, approved the appointment of Professor Salisu Usman Ogbo as the new Vice-Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba (PAAU), and Dr. Salihu Sanusi Avidime as the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.

Professor Ogbo’s appointment follows the expiration of the tenure of the outgoing vice-chancellor, Professor Marietu Tenuche.

Until his new role, he served as the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, bringing extensive academic and administrative experience to the university.

Governor Ododo congratulated Professor Ogbo, urging him to build on the achievements of his predecessor and enhance the institution’s standards of excellence.

Dr. Salihu Sanusi Avidime was also appointed Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, with the governor tasking him to provide visionary leadership and drive the institution’s growth.

Both appointments take immediate effect as part of the state government’s broader effort to strengthen leadership and improve the quality of tertiary education in Kogi State.
