In a sudden turn of events, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have suspended their planned protest and instructed employees under the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to immediately resume work.
The unions reached the decision after a meeting with Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and members of the Senate Committee on the FCT.
Details of the discussions have not been fully disclosed, but both unions emphasized that the directive aims to maintain harmony and continuity in the FCTA workforce.

The move comes after days of uncertainty, during which FCTA employees had reportedly considered withholding their services in protest over unspecified grievances.
The NLC and TUC assured that further consultations will continue to address workers’ concerns while ensuring public service operations remain uninterrupted.
FCTA employees are now expected to return to their offices without delay as the unions monitor compliance and follow up on pending negotiations.
